Our Mission

Our mission is to serve individuals and their families in our community who suffer from anxiety, depression and/or isolation which leads to self-medicating with substances.

The foundation accomplishes this by connecting individuals with treatment options and services through a network of established partnerships.

Our Vision

We strive to rid our community of the unimaginable suffering caused by opioids and other harmful substances which have taken hold in our neighborhoods.

There were an estimated 100,000+ drug overdose deaths in the United States ending in April 2021, an increase of 28.5% over the year prior (Center for Disease Control). In California, the Los Angeles Dept. of Public Health reports a 48% increase in accidental overdoses during the first five months of the pandemic. Our community is no exception. Certainly, no one understands the need for change better than our founder, who lost her own beloved son in 2021 to an overdose at just 27 years old.

The focus of the foundation is to offer individuals a comprehensive plan to effect meaningful change and save lives. This wraparound approach is vital to address the complex needs of individuals suffering from addiction, often exacerbated by mental health and social issues. Our vision is a safe and healthy community, free from the tragedy of addiction.

What we Do

Our services connect those living with addiction or mental health issues to resources like: Rehabilitation, Sober Living, Therapy, Life Coaching, Follow-ups and Mentorship.

We connect with each client on an individual basis to assist in their personal success. Once a client has come to a realized place and has been living up to their full potential, they may become “Stewards” to help guide others who would like to follow in their footsteps.

The Impact Foundation-LA has been organized to provide benevolent support services for those in need.  More specifically, the organization will provide one-on-one mentoring and support to individuals in need, beginning in California, focusing on those dealing with addiction and those in need of mental well-being and healthy lifestyle support.  By providing these benevolent support services, IFLA will help to improve the chances for individuals’ success in life.

Our ultimate goal is to have you Thrive with positive, supportive and holistic life style choices.

Stewardship

The Impact Foundation is familiar with the Alcoholics/Narcotics anonymous model of sponsors and sponsees. We have re-imagined this relationship between our client and a professional steward. Instead of just calling one’s steward when a client needs support, the steward will be proactive about communicating and planning with each client and their family.

The steward walks alongside the client connecting them to resources and professionals through their sobriety and wellness journey. Our goal is to form a continued care bond between our steward and clients."

Ambassadors

Ambassador Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ambassadors have the responsibility to represent IFLA well.

  • Ambassadors will help propose ideas for fundraising events and help run these events. They will provide support and assistance at these events, which might include working fair booths or talking at charity functions.

  • Ambassadors strive for representation. They will work to identify and execute in setting up clubs at their schools.

  • Ambassadors advocate for awareness among their fellow students to make sure they’re conscious of the help that is available through IFLA.

  • Ambassadors propose ideas for student-events, centered around school stress. This would also include fun, de-stressing activities (ex: movie nights, spa nights, game nights). LGBTQ+ Ambassadors could do events centered around LGBTQ youth and wellness.

  • Ambassadors will speak at local school assemblies about wellness and mental well-being. This means discussing opportunities for such assemblies with principles and other necessary school staff.

  • Ambassadors may work with the Coalition Ambassador Program, assisting and leading the way. Community Service hours can be awarded via our coaltion sector partner: Prom Plus.

Rebekah DeBoskey

My name is Rebekah DeBoskey and I am a sophomore at Crescenta Valley High School. My passions are animals, social justice, fashion, cheerleading, theater, music and mental health awareness. I hope to study psychology and social services. My goal is to open my own non-profit organization focused on helping women who have experienced trauma. When I found the Impact Foundation, I immediately knew it was a program that would be so beneficial to our community. I was ecstatic when I found out about their ambassador program, and immediately got to work. I look forward to working with the IFLA, and helping those in our community get the help they need and deserve.

Payton Ashe

My name is Payton Ashe and I am a Junior at Crescenta Valley High School. I am an avid non-fiction reader and I love studying human behavior/interactions. I hope to get my Phd in Clinical or Abnormal Psychology. I want to improve the lives of others by helping them understand how their mind and body operates. Once I become more established, I would like to use my knowledge in the court room and help the jury dig deeper into the internal thoughts/motivations of those on trial. As someone who studies the brain, I find mental health to be extremely important and that it should be easily accessible to everyone. The Impact Foundation provides this type of aid to those who can not afford it or safely access it at home. This amazing foundation has a positive influence on many lives and that’s why I am proud to be an Youth Ambassador for IFLA.
